A quick follow-up to a recent post. By popular demand (not really), another spacey, tripped-out tune. As I was walking though the YMCA recently, I heard this 80's song blaring through the sound system. The music is standard 80's techno, but the chorus always struck me as dreamy and hypnotic:

Send Me an Angel...Send Me an Angel...Right Now.........

And here is another bonus clip,, For no valid reason other than it makes me laugh..

Daft Punk....Really?

By all rights, I should not like this stuff. Daft Punk?..I faintly remember them from the 90's as some kind of electronic dance music (EDM) with robotic voices. Their new CD, Random Access Memories is a retro departure to the world of 70's disco/funk (which I wasn't a huge fan of the first time around). Yet, i went ahead and made a legitimate Amazon CD purchase because I can't stop listening to several of the tracks.

Repetitive? sure...but I would rather listen to these same riffs over and over than listen to the majority of what passes for top 40 pop music in 2013. It makes me smile and makes me want to dance (although that is not going to happen). The videos below are most awesome!.. The old Soul Train clips synch up perfectly with the Daft Punk jams..how would have thunk??

Time Travel via Music.. Hypnotic journey....

My friend Richie texted me on Saturday morning and asked me if I was familiar with Lana Del Rey. Yes, I replied...great story, huh?!

Well it got me thinking that I have always loved hypnotic music that carries you away to another place and time. Close your eyes, relax  put on your headphones and enjoy the dreamy atmosphere..

I was obsessed with the early 90's TV cult-favorite, Twin Peaks. In addition to the bizarre characters and overall David Lynch madness, the musical background sounds were essential to the tripped-out essence of this unique show. I believe Lana Del Ray's voice would have been perfect for this twisted TV saga if she had been a singer back in David Lynch's Twin Peaks//Blue Velvet heydey.

here are a few hypnotic gems...
