Traynor Mix 2003 ....That is how the CD was labeled that I grabbed from my massive pile of burned-CD's. Ten years have passed since I burned this mix-CD....

The decade of advances in technology has been off-the-charts crazy amazing!... Back in 2003, phones were for talking as compared to the current smart phones with Internet access, cameras, GPS devices, games, music,movies,etc... and the possibilities seem limitless.

Back in 2003, my mind was blown by the concept of digital downloads and the ability to make my own CD's. The mix CD was one of the coolest developments delivered by CD-burners. Tracks from various CD's could be ripped, compiled and burned into the perfect mix of  unique songs, atmosphere and themes. Making a mix-CD for a friend was a deeply personal mission. To many, the CD is a relic from the dinosaur age but not all change is progress. With the constant stream of high-tech devices, it is easy to lose sight of cool concepts from a simpler time. It seems insane that the CD is already outdated but I will continue to treasure the old artifacts:  mix-CD's, vinyl records, cassettes, film, etc.etc.

Here are a few videos of tunes from that 2003 mix CD. Sounds like I was going for that early root-rock vibe.

Pope Benedict XVI....

Thank you and good night..

2/24/78...Tomorrow is the 35th anniversary of my first date with the love of my life. Thank you for this wonderful adventure filled with love, surprise, love and laughter...many many more to come.. here are a few videos of songs with special meaning to us..

Late-Night Weekend Monster Movies on TV.....If you grew up in the 70's, you may remember this TV tradition. The late night horror show would feature some wacky local host dressed in some goth, monster-friendly wardrobe. In the Philadelphia region, it was Doctor Shock....

The tradition continues on cable channel, METV, on Saturday nights at 10pm. The monster flicks are hosted by Svengoolie, who paid his local television dues in Chicago. Tune in , think back..and watch an old scary movie...good times

Add some music to your day.
The Beach Boys's underrated tune says it very well. Music is all around us and if you listen closely, the sounds can heal you or make you smile.
Hey Little Girl - Syndicate of Sound
This classic piece of garage rock was blaring out of the radio when I went to the YMCA to swim the other day. At that moment, I could not think of a single song in the whole world that I would have rather heard. The classic meeting of sound and moment...and I think I swam some extra laps..
