This week's new release Tuesday was a 5-star extravaganza from a Music Slices perspective! Two of my favorites dropped new works into mix. The Beach Boys released a new CD, That's Why God Made the Radio, containing all new material to celebrate their 50th anniversary. The last song is a melancholy masterpiece by Brian Wilson, Summer's Gone, beautiful and heartbreaking. After my first listen, the final song feels like a goodbye from Brian but one never knows. As the reunited Beach Boys tour the country during this Summer of 2012, I am amazed and thankful to enjoy their Good Vibrations once again!

Chris Robinson, lead singer of The Black Crowes, released the first studio work from his new band, Chris Robinson Brotherhood. Big Moon Ritual captures the spirit of the band's live shows, a loose jam loaded with rock and psychedelic vibes.
